Interesting to note that while watching CTV News Channel, I’ve noticed that they often refer to Kamala Harris as ”Doctor” Harris.

Especially when the news anchor is female.

So why don’t they refer to our own [Conservative Leadership Candidate] Leslyn Lewis as ”Doctor Lewis.”

Just thought I’d ask??

In fairness, we should hear Ms. Harris thoughts on this... wait...

The Harris campaign has not commented on her father's claims. It did not respond to a request for comment.

Homicide #41/2020

Homicide is investigating after John Wheeler, 45, of Toronto, was shot while waiting for a ride to work outside an apartment building in Scarborough on Danforth Road near Eglinton Avenue East around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Wheeler was standing outside the building when two suspects approached him and shot him in the back. The suspects then fled the scene in a dark-coloured SUV that police said was driven by a woman.

Const. Caroline de Kloet said that two males were involved in a fight with a large group of other people "and suffered injuries."

They then returned to the scene, carrying "weapons."

Home Improvement

Halfway through dealing with a kitchen sink drain malfunction and ready to [cultural appropriation alert!] commit seppuku. The realisation that I am no longer as functional or flexible as I once was, has been brought home like a runaway train.

After plunging and attempting to snake the drain from ground level, and apparently making things worse, I retreated to the basement to transect the 2" PVC at a point where I could snake it both ways before it met the larger unclogged main drain.

Turns out the pipe was completely plugged along a three foot section before a turn [with gawd only knows what] and somewhat plugged for a few feet beyond that. Decades of dishwasher debris have to be a contributing factor. Either that, or some sci-fi alien intruder has been taking a dump in the sink when we're not here.

I will leave the minutiae of the unclogging process to your collective imagination. Horrible, evil smelling debris with plenty of aerosolized ejecta as I sawed the pipe. Cleaned it out and remounted with removable couplers [for ease of periodic maintenance] and it's finally fully functional again.

Despite our best efforts, there was... let's call it leakage... and cleanup promises to double our fun. I will never again complain about the money a good plumber demands.

TORONTO — Ontario’s human rights commission has found that Black people in Toronto are “disproportionately” arrested, charged and subjected to use of force by the city’s police force.

It found that despite the fact Black people represent only about 8.8 per cent of the city’s population, they represented almost a third of all charges in the data.

On Tuesday, police at 42 Division told CP24 the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Santhoskumar Selvarajah, was now in custody. Selvarajah allegedly forced the woman into a vehicle in the area of Empringham Drive and Sewells Road in Scarborough’s Malvern neighbourhood at 5:41 p.m., police said.
