A man in his 20s is dead after a shooting in North York. Toronto police say he was shot near Dufferin Street and Lawrence Avenue just before midnight on Sunday. He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He died Monday morning.

The victim, who has been identified by police as 22-year-old Said Ali of Toronto, had suffered a single gunshot wound. Police have not yet released any information on possible suspects.

Two men are in serious condition after a shooting at a backyard party in Scarborough early Sunday. Paramedics were called to Commonwealth Ave. and Brussels Rd. just after midnight, where they found a man, 31, in serious and possibly life-threatening condition with a gunshot wound. A 30-year-old man was also seriously injured.

Staff Sgt. Jim Giczi said the shooting took place at a “large party” in a residential backyard, and that “a number of shots were fired.” Earlier this month, a similar setting for a shooting happened in Scarborough when two men were killed at a backyard birthday party.

A man walked into Humber River Hospital on Wilson Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, police said. Investigators were still working to establish where the shooting took place as of 11 p.m. Saturday.

Police say Alam Gabriel Buoc, 30, is wanted on two first-degree murder charges in the deaths of 26-year-old Abdulrahman Al-Shammari and 27-year-old Dirie Olol, who both died of gunshot wounds Monday. Police later found the body of Al-Shammari in the city’s west end, and the body of Olol in an abandoned vehicle.

Police also issued a warrant for Buoc for the attempted murder of a third man, who is in serious condition in hospital with gunshot wounds.

Tabloid Bild reports that the man shouted “Allahu akbar” prior to the stabbing rampage.

Earlier this month, a local village council in the southern city of Multan was called after a family accused a 16-year-old boy of raping a 13-year-old neighbor. BRAMPTON, Ont. - Police west of Toronto are warning parents that a woman convicted of deliberately poisoning four young children in her care has been released from prison. Peel Regional Police say Christine Allen, 36, was released Monday and will be living in the Charolais Boulevard area in Brampton, Ont.

Police say Allen is at an elevated risk to re-offend, adding that they will be working with Correctional Service Canada to monitor her activities within the community.

An Afghan diplomat, Mohammad Yama Aini is accused of beating his wife so badly that she ended up in a Queens emergency room — but he won’t be charged because he has diplomatic immunity, police sources told The Post on Sunday.

At some point, Aini then drove his wife to Flushing Hospital, where she eventually told workers he had pulled her hair, slapped her and punched her in the face. But Mohammad, 46, could not be charged because of he is a counselor to the Afghan Mission to the UN, which gives him diplomatic immunity.

Mohammad on Sunday denied to The Post that he hit his wife. “I think you have it wrong,” he said over the intercom at the building where he and his family live. “Nothing happened. The hospital is saying nothing happened, and the doctors and my wife say that nothing happened between us.”

TORONTO - A man believed to be in his 20s is dead following a shooting in Scarborough’s Malvern neighbourhood on Sunday night. The shooting came hours after two men in their 30s were shot dead and a woman seriously wounded at a birthday barbecue a few streets over.

It was not known if the incidents are related.

On Tuesday evening, police confirmed that the victim is 25-year-old Demal Graham of Toronto.

“He was very involved in the community. I would call him even a pillar of the community around here,” family friend and neighbor Karen Clarke said. “He helped babysit people’s kids.”

Sure, that picture just screams "babysitter's helper," whatever that is, but... wait for it...

While Graham had had some run-ins with the law in the past over drugs, Clarke said he was working hard to take his life in a different direction.

“He was more than his mistakes and he was committed to rewriting who he was.”

The border state of Chihuahua, which had found some relief from violence that peaked in 2010, has found its murders in 2017 running about 55 percent ahead of where they were last year.

Police have not released any information about potential suspects at this point, refusing to even speculate on how many people may have opened fire.

Despite there being “upwards of 200 people” at the party, Toronto Police Det. Rob North says police are struggling to find witnesses. “We’ve had very little co-operation from people,” North said.

A shooting inside a Scarborough bar has sent five people to hospital.

Gunfire first erupted inside McGradies Tap & Grill on Victoria Park Avenue near Ellesmere Road at around 2:30 a.m.

Two men were shot in a suspected drive-by shooting in the neighbourhood of Eglinton East Saturday night, Toronto police say. As a result of the shots, two men later made their way to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say it's not clear if the shooting was targeted.

You'll be happy to know Toronto cops aren't totally incompetent. They were able to offer up one suspect description from this weekend's mayhem...

"A gas bar attendant told Toronto police he saw two stabbing victims walking to his east-end gas station early Sunday morning. Police say the suspect is white, six feet tall and in his 20s and 30s."

Quinnton Drake, 25, of Ajax, faces 21 charges including possession of property obtained by crime, six counts of pointing a firearm, robbery and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
