Lawyer claims young Toronto black man beaten into coma by officers
Toronto lawyer and mayoral candidate Saron Ghebresellassi took to Twitter on Monday night claiming Musie Ghebremichael, was "beaten almost to death by 14 Division" along with a photo of her client in critical care unit at Toronto Western Hospital breathing through a tube.
There is, of course, the obligatory inflammatory picture of Mr Ghebremichael lying in a hospital bed, provided, no doubt, by
Mayoral candidate and lawyer Saron Ghebresellassi.
Only much further on in the article do you get a response from the other side...
Musie Ghebremichael allegedly drove at the officers, "knocking their bicycles into traffic and striking other cars," according to police spokesperson Meaghan Gray. Witnesses say they saw the accused get out of the vehicle and ran into a crowd outside of a club in the area.
There, one witness claimed Ghebremichael appeared to have suffered some kind of medical episode and was making strange noises. "According to the medical evidence, the man did not sustain any serious injury deemed to be the result of any police action," said Special Investigations Unit spokesperson Monica Hudon.
You have to go to another source to get the goods on poor little Mr Ghebremichael...
Police believe this was a coordinated criminal operation...
$ 870,000 in stolen vehicles
$ 387,120 in damage to Commercial Businesses in the course of the criminal acts
$ 72,490 in cash stolen from ATMs
$ 114,300 in cash and property stolen during the break ins
Who are you gonna believe here?
And was justice actually served in any way, shape or form? You be the judge...
KITCHENER — A Kitchener man who was involved in a string of ATM robberies using stolen pickup trucks walked out of a courtroom a free man on Tuesday.
Musie Ghebremichael, who turns 23 next week, had been in jail since April 2016. Justice Gary Hearn suspended his sentence, which allowed the man to walk out of the prisoner's box.
"He should start his 23rd birthday in the community with the supports in place."
And a big, fat settlement from the Toronto Police Department?
