Hmmm... I wonder what the
"civil liberties" folks would have to say about Quebec...
A small town in rural New York state has passed a law that all town business be conducted in English, leading to accusations that it is stoking racial prejudice.
Jackson, a remote farming community of just over 1,700 people, has been attacked by civil liberties campaigners who say its new ordinance is unconstitutional and illegal.
The New York Civil Liberties Union has threatened to sue Jackson if it does not rescind the law, which was passed in March, arguing that it infringes on local people's right to free speech.
Can't wait to see this one go to court.
