Week one... bodycount two

-- TORONTO -- A 19-year-old man was shot and killed in Scarborough early Thursday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Empiringham Dr., near Sheppard Ave. E. and Neilson Rd. just after midnight.

The teen was found on the street and bleeding from the chest. Paramedics attempted to save his life but he was pronounced dead at Sunnybrook hospital.

Vincent "Villain" Wright's life began spiralling out of control nearly two years ago when his beloved uncle, 23-year-old Tristan Wright, was killed with two bullets to the head outside a Malvern house party some 2 km away.
In other non-fatal news...
Police are also investigating a drive-by shooting in the city's west end.

A 17-year-old was walking on Flemington Road in the Lawrence Heights community with a friend when they were ambushed. Shots rang out from a passing car, hitting the 17-year-old in his ankle.

An east Toronto apartment building was crawling with police officers late Thursday after an 18-year-old man was found with a serious gunshot wound.

Toronto Police were called to 3400 Eglinton Ave. E., a highrise at Kingston Rd in Scarborough, around 9:50 p.m. after the badly injured man was found bleeding in an elevator.

"A male was shot in the abdomen," a 43 Division officer said early Friday.
