"Oh my goodness..."

"The news is not good, my young friend... I am just talking to my friend George Bush... and he is veddy, veddy angry..."
-- BAGHDAD -- Iraqi police commandos captured the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq in a raid in the northern city of Mosul, Iraqi officials said today, in what could mark a significant blow to the Sunni insurgency in its last urban stronghold.

Iraqi Defence Ministry Spokesman Mohammed al-Askari said the arrest of Abu Ayyub al-Masri – also known as Abu Hamza al-Muhajir – was reported by the Iraqi commander in Mosul.
You think it's too late to call the Iraqi Human Rights Commission?

Looks like ol' Abu is about to reap the whirlwind.

UPDATE: 14:00 EST -- US says report is not true
U.S. military officials in Iraq say the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq has not been captured.

They denied reports from an Iraqi Interior Ministry spokesman Major General Abdul Karim Khalaf, who told Iraqi state television on Thursday that Abu Ayyub al-Masri had been detained in a raid in the city of Mosul.
