Ah, "struggling AND grappling?" But really, thriving?

Mohammad, who is a barber, said he must be available to inspect a possible home at a moment's notice, which makes it difficult to maintain regular, full-time working hours.

Hang on, the article says they (presumably the whole family) are "grappling" with "securing employment for Mohammad" which kinda sounds like he is not employed at all.

I don't know how things work in Syria, but here, you get yourself a job to pay for stuff like food and lodging. You get that job and use your two days off every week to search for a home. That's how we do it. Unless, of course, you're happy staying on the dole. Otherwise, nobody would ever have their own place, right?
