So help me, er... Ralph

The left’s intentional habit of confusing secularism with de-Christianization has done little to minimize the role of faith in Canadian society; increasingly, it just means as Christians stand down, religions whose roots in Canadian culture are far shallower step up.

What results is not a Canada free of the imagined regressive or irrational influences of faith, but simply one where religious cultures from the developing world fill an abandoned space.

Our new faithful, after all, do not generally hail from corners of the globe with particularly inspiring records when it comes to tolerating heretics — to say nothing of women and sexual minorities.
Our new Prime Minister claims to be a Roman Catholic, but will not sign nomination papers for any candidate who won't board the Abortion Express... which might be prove to be a tad awkward if he runs into the Pope somewhere down the road.

A new Islamic fatwa in Turkey has decreed that Muslims are allowed to use toilet paper. The Directorate of Religious Affairs for Turkey stated that the use of the material for hygiene is acceptable but water was preferable.

The set of rules for how Muslims should relieve themselves, called the Qadaa al-Haajah, was established in the times before toilet paper or toilet seats were invented. Use of the left hand or three stones was also permissible.
Stones?!?! They actually use stones to wipe their arse?

No wonder you never see a picture of a smiling Ayatollah.
