The New Normal

"Some people hold the idiotic belief that, 'If I have nothing to hide, I have nothing to fear.' This is dangerous logic, for so many reasons. Even the use of the word ‘hide’ is ridiculous… as if the fact that I don’t upload photos of my nether regions to Instagram means that I’m 'hiding' something."

old white guy says...........it has been proven many times that just because you think you have "nothing to hide" that you have nothing to fear, does not mean you can't be arrested and jailed for those activities that you think you are free to engage in.

the naivety of the millenmials and the aging lefty flower children is astounding. they seem to feel the government is the answer to all their problems.

hey, here in canada, there's no shortage of "dear leader" syndrome either.

8 years of degenerate communism in the DC administration has sucked the self-esteem from th left demographic. They have devolved themselves into simpering servants of the American soviet state....there is no place for free speech, personal security , privacy in the glorious new multicultural collective.

You are so right, Anonymous @11:24. Once sucked into the black hole of leftism, there is no non-revolutionary escape for a society. What passes for conservatism finds itself re-defined farther and farther leftward, currently to point of accepting wholesale murder of innocents (abortion and euthanasia). The most "extreme" CPC leadership candidates are demonized for suggesting common sense policies such as vetting (Oh, the humanity!) immigants and ending the interprovincial welfare scam that rewards failure and punishes success. Unfortunately far too few Canadians have the independence gene that carried Trump to victory down there; the majority of us are what the leftists (eg. CBC) made us.

Dollops - there IS enough resistance here, but it is pegged to economic motivations - socialists always hollow out an economy - look at Ontario, made into a rust belt in 15 years by globalist kleptocrats - but when we see the prosperity south of the borde while we languish in soviet austerity, it will be impossible to resist Trump economics.

"anon says... look at Ontario, made into a rust belt in 15 years by globalist kleptocrats..."

indeed.

since being elected in 2003, the mcguinty/wynne libranos have doubled ontario's debt and chased the manufacturing sector elsewhere.
