Somebody doesn't heart New York

“It was a quiet night, and then I heard this deafening boom,” said Jakir Aussin, who works at a Dunkin Donuts at 23rd and Sixth Avenue. “My first thought was, ‘Oh god, a bomb,’ so I got down on the floor.” He added “I looked outside and it’s all broken glass, car alarms going off — I still don’t know what happened.”

SEASIDE PARK, N.J. (AP) — A pipe bomb exploded in a Jersey Shore town Saturday shortly before thousands of runners were due to participate in a charity 5K race to benefit Marines and sailors.

Officials said runners had been scheduled to pass by the area around the time the blast occurred, but the start of the race had been delayed after an unattended backpack was found and the area was mostly empty when the blast occurred.
Just a coincidence, I'm sure.
