BREAKING: Toronto Police Advisory...

Don't let anyone get behind you...
Toronto police are warning the public to be cautious after a shooting in the area of Morecambe Gate and Victoria Park Avenue north of Finch Ave. The man was shot in the back, paramedics said.
The report seems to indicate this guy was waiting in a bus shelter and some random sociopath lit him up from behind.

Keep your head on a swivel... just like Iraq. Who exactly is it we're looking for? Sure thing, officer.

This oughta be interesting. Remember, though... crime is way down.

Apple's new emoji palette...

..for all you Iphone users who have been struggling with race-friendly Kwanzaa text messages...suckass political correctnessTrust me, it doesn't stop there...
The new emoji feature a range of skin tone options and a new “neutral” default of yellow, which is required by the Unicode specification to be “non-realistic.”
Yes, there's something for everyone...
There’s a ton of new family emojis to cover off different family composition.
Well, maybe not everyone. Strangely, there's not a hijab to be seen... an obvious oversight given current geopolitical realities.

Take that, white privilege.

Remember all those people...

...who claimed to be Mi’kmaq?

Here's chapter 2...if wishes made it soOf course, there's just one small hitch...
APTN also says the twins’ father, Anthony Larmond, claims his sons get their aboriginal heritage through his side of the family, although, as the report notes, he could not recall a First Nation community to which his family might be associated.

The twins’ lawyer Joseph Addelman declined to comment on Wednesday on his client’s bid to be recognized as First Nations members.
C'mon, now... isn't this like all those guys in jail who adopt "aboriginal identities" to get into special programs? Doesn't wishing make it so?

**********

UPDATE: I blame Stephen Harper
The twins father, Anthony Larmond said he blames the arrests on Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s “crusade against ISIS and turning our country into a prison state.

“It’s a sad day for freedom when our citizens can be jailed for a belief.”
Or anything else, right? One small detail the Ottawa Citizen neglected to mention...
Larmond is currently at a Toronto halfway house finishing a six-year sentence for armed robbery.

FROM THE APTN COMMENTS:
"I live on a reservation, my whole family does, my mother is a Councillor here, half of the community has my family name, but my grandfather who is only half aboriginal married a beautiful white women (My grandmother) and they had my mother who is only one quarter aboriginal. Since my Father is also white, I’m only one eighth. I live, work, and am even in a common law relationship here and get no Indian status. All my records can be traced back to where I live no problem, it still doesn’t matter I guess. If these twins get status, I’m going to freak the fuck out. and we will have a fight on our hands."

RELATED: A noble sentiment indeed...
“Ending the violence in our communities is the bottom line,” he said Wednesday. Indigenous women “have a right to live free in an environment that is healthy, loving and caring.”
Unfortunately, it may be a little more complicated than issuing yet another statement...
The incarceration rate of aboriginal men is 11 times that of non-native men; of women, it is 250 times the rate for non-native women.
Hmmm... nobody seems to mention those numbers when they talk about missing or murdered women. Strange.

If you really think Canada is...

...becoming too repressive... you could move to Saudi Arabia...
The Angus Reid poll indicates just what a political juggernaut the security bill is – widely popular in every province, every age group, and across party lines. More than four in five Canadians – 82 per cent – back the new legislation... Far from seeing it as too sweeping, they tend to want more: 36 per cent say it does not go far enough.
You don't have to be a Weatherman...

Despite a world rocked by attacks carried out by Muslims, President Obama dismissed religion’s role in global terrorism. “No religion is responsible for terrorism. People are responsible for terrorism.”
Meanwhile, back at home, he just can't bring himself to say "criminals are responsible for murder."

Funny how that works.

**********

LAST WORD: He's so dreamy
Meanwhile, Barack Obama went golfing today for the third day in a row.
Unbelievable.

12 Billion dollars yearly on Aboriginal affairs

More money isn't the solution... it's where existing monies disappear to...
“It all boils down to lack of services," Band councillor Dean Mitsuing said. "We don't get the same funding as everyone else -- maybe that could have stopped this, we don't have any services on the reserve.”
Wait a minute... apparently, Dean... you do.
Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada lists Makwa Sahgaiehcan as having a fire hall. An access-to-information request by The Canadian Press shows the band was given just over $11,000 for fire protection in each of the 2012-13 and 2013-14 fiscal years.
(h/t SDA)

That $11,000 was more than double the retainer the band were supposed to be paying to the nearby Loon Lake fire department.

Perhaps if the money shows up under somebody's mattress, they can use it for funeral expenses.

Let's remember, Justin Trudeau has said he'll dismantle legislation that puts everyday audit controls (that every other Canadian has to live with) on the billions of dollars in aboriginal subsidies.

LAST WORD: Who needs audit controls

We can trust what the community tells us, right?
No, that's not a parody of the Twelve Days of Christmas. It's a list of Kanesatake Mohawk Police weapons that have disappeared.
That's the cops... whaddaya think the "not cops" are up to?

What's the big rush?

In Barack Obama's pipe-dreamy vision of a moderate Islam... there's always a happy ending...barack husseins buddiesExcept when there isn't.
In early June, London had a “positive identification and that information was shared with Washington,” said a British source. The delay of nearly a month before the rescue bid was mounted remains a source of bewilderment for British officials. The following month, ISIS began beheading its American and British prisoners in a series of grisly Internet videos.
Another Whitehouse misstep that resulted in three civilian deaths? Benghazi much?

Another question that has arisen... was the U.S. trying to distract the media by offering up the "jihadi bride" narrative?
On Wednesday, reports surfaced that Mueller may have been given as a bride to an ISIS fighter. But British sources questioned the claim, saying it was the first they had heard of it and it didn’t crop up in any “chatter they were monitoring” or in communications between London and Washington.
Yes, Mr President... I blame the Crusades, too.

The number of children growing up as Muslims in the UK has almost doubled in a decade in what experts have described as an “unprecedented” shift in Britain’s social make-up. At a time when the wider population is ageing rapidly, half of British Muslims are under the age of 25 and a third are under 15.
The big picture...
Overall 2.7 million people... described themselves as Muslim. That is up from just under 1.6 million in 2001 – a 75 per cent jump.
The times they are a changin'. Need an example?
Chris Grayling, the Justice Secretary, could be dragged into a messy legal battle after a Muslim family demanded that a “non-believer” who was buried next to their relation be exhumed for religious reasons.

The unnamed Muslim family raised objections after an 89-year-old Roman Catholic man was buried in a plot adjacent to their relation.
Uh-huh.

According to the result of a study of the “Social Science Center Berlin,” 70% of Belgian Muslims consider religious rules as more important than the law.
When Muslims achieve critical political mass in any country, is it so hard to believe that the Koran will supercede the law of the land?

Trust me, polygamy will be the least of it.

Italy’s birth rate has fallen to its lowest level since the foundation of the modern state in 1861, prompting fresh alarm in a society that has been steadily ageing for decades.

Beatrice Lorenzin, the minister of health, said: “We are at the threshold where people who die are not being replaced by newborns. That means we are a dying country.

"This situation has enormous implications for every sector: the economy, society, health, pensions, just to give a few examples."
Not to worry, though... the New Caliphate is well on its way.

Once again, the dead tree media sets about winding up the lunatic left... this time it's Islamophobic hate crimes perpetrated by the Christian far right...halls of macadamia/Only problem is... turns out the shooter is an atheist and a hard core leftie...
A review of the Facebook page of the man charged in these murders, Craig Hicks, shows consistent themes of anti-religion and progressive causes.
Oh, yeah, one more small detail... it had nothing to do with Islam either...
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — An ongoing parking dispute between neighbours sparked the shooting deaths of three family members at a quiet condominium complex near the University of North Carolina campus, police said Wednesday.
A tragedy... yes. A "hate crime" involving even a single Christian (terrorist or otherwise)... no.

Despite acknowledging the police statement about this being a dispute over parking, a CBC headline posted at 1:47pm Wednesday claims police are still looking for a motive.

**********

UPDATE: Not Obama's children this time
Ripley Rand, the U.S. prosecutor for the Middle District, which includes Chapel Hill and Durham, said federal authorities had not launched a separate investigation of the crime. Rand said that from the early details of the Chapel Hill investigation, the killings did not appear to be part of a targeted campaign against Muslims.

“This appears at this time to be an isolated incident.”
Translation... obvious whackjob kills a bunch of people for no good reason. Not religion. Not [insert group here]-phobia.

Sorry to disappoint.

Her municipal career was also punctuated with embarrassing incidents. During the 2003 race, her husband, Peter, and brother Jim were found with a carload of purloined election signs belonging to her opponents. So much for the vetting process.

While we're highlighting Justin's political acumen...
An Abacus poll last week suggested Harper is the major-party leader most respondents would trust to run a large company, counsel an investor, or negotiate a contract. Respondents imagined Trudeau would be the best leader to sing a song, babysit a pet or survive in the wilderness.

Their financial records are copious, confusing, and sometimes outright bizarre, and together, they depict persistent financial woes for Sharpton, who also personally owes New York State nearly $596,000, according to active tax warrants.
Does Al Sharpton have some sort of transactional immunity? Would anyone be surprised if Sharpton fesses up shortly before Barack Obama leaves office... and is then granted a presidential pardon?

Sadly, the truth was that Brawley, under Sharpton's tutelage, tried to ruin a man's life and they were both held to account by a civil court. Guess who paid off Al Sharpton's civil judgement?
In 1998, Pagones won his defamation lawsuit. Maddox was found liable for $97,000, Mason for $188,000, and Sharpton for $66,000 — money that was paid by celebrity lawyer Johnnie Cochran and other benefactors.
