-- LONDON, Ont. -- In a move that has reignited talk of a coalition, an NDP candidate in this southern Ontario city has surprised everyone, including his own party, by withdrawing from the election race and throwing his support behind his Liberal rival.

Ryan Dolby, who was running in Elgin-Middlesex-London, made the announcement in a press release e-mailed to the media, party officials and others Wednesday morning.

“I am worried if Stephen Harper gets a majority. I made a strategic decision,” Dolby said.

"On the same show, we learned of other coming pay-offs: separatist appointments to the Senate. There are 18 vacancies in the Senate, including four in Quebec. Not only are the Bloc in for patronage pay-offs, but Elizabeth May, the Green Party leader, was on Parliament Hill today, and she wouldn't deny that she, too, was offered a Senate seat."

With 68 cents on every dollar spent on education and health care — and another $10.3 billion a year to service Ontario's massive debt — Duncan didn't have much cash to play with.

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi will make a speech soon about the “crusader enemy“, Libyan state television said late on Saturday in a reference to Western airstrikes that were launched against him.

THE COMPASSIONATE, INTELLECTUAL LEFT RESPONDS:
the bromance continuesOh, nonny... I betcha feel better now, huh? And, hey... more good news... looks like you're not the only Momo cheerleader in the stadium...
"I warn my brother do you let these wicked demons move you in a direction that will absolutely ruin your future with your people in Africa and throughout the world."

"STOP!!!"

Pro-Gaddafi forces have attacked the Libyan rebel stronghold of Benghazi and their tanks have entered the city, a BBC journalist witnessed.

The rebel's leader has appealed to the international community to stop the pro-Gaddafi bombardment, but the government denies it is attacking.
"...OR I'LL YELL STOP AGAIN!!!"...
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon says the world must "speak with one voice" on Libya. Earlier, US President Barack Obama said forces loyal to Col Muammar Ghaddafi must stop attacking rebel areas or face military action.
Yeah... there's a bold "Leader of the Free World" response.
John O. Brennan, President Obama’s top counterterrorism official, said that the military attacks on civilians ordered in recent days by Libya’s leader, Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, coupled with his track record as a sponsor of terrorism, had heightened worries within the administration as an international coalition threatens military action against Libya.
Which translates, loosely, into... President McDreamy is crappin' in his pants... possibly with some justification. Of course, that doesn't stop the MSM from trying to change the channel and blame everything on George Bush...
"In the Obama White House, unilateral U.S. action is a foreign concept. The world, or most of it, is undoubtedly grateful for that."
Way to audible, G&M... now you're speaking up for "the rest of the world?"

Unfortunately... there's just one small problem with the Mr. Rogers, er... "Obama Doctrine"...
"It also means that rogue states and dictators can carry out their misdeeds without fear of swift and muscular correction from America."

UPDATE: Relax Monsieur Barry, we've got this...

You know you're late to the party... when the French hand out the first hors d'oeuvres...
The first shot in a UN-mandated intervention in Libya was fired by a French aircraft and destroyed a military vehicle at around 12:45 p.m. ET, French defence ministry and army officials said on Saturday.

“A first target was engaged and destroyed,” ministry spokesman Laurent Teisseire told reporters.
What... you mean lot's of meaningless jibber-jabber wasn't gonna do the trick?

In other "Emerging Democracy in the Middle East" news...
Egypt’s governing military council released the younger brother of Ayman al-Zawahri, Al Qaeda’s second in command, from prison on Thursday after holding him for a decade on charges of conspiracy to overthrow the government.
Yup... there's still a few bugs in the system...
ElBaradei was the subject of a hostile crowd as he tried to vote Saturday, with some smashing the glass of his car as it retreated. It was not immediately clear who was behind the attack.

My "compassionate, intellectual" left...

...includes Helen Thomas & [insert joke here] Playboy magazine...
Helen Thomas is not sorry, nor were the comments that ended her career accidental -- “I knew exactly what I was doing – I was going for broke. I had reached the point of no return. You finally get fed up … I finally wanted to speak the truth.”
The truth, Helen?!? In what way, precisely... is channelling Mohamed Atta... "the truth?"
Thomas, of course, left her perch as the dean of the White House press corps last year after telling a rabbi and blogger that Jews should “get the hell out of Palestine” and “go home” to “Poland, Germany and America and everywhere else.”
Somebody please enlighten me... what exactly... is the never-ending deal with the lunatic leftosphere and the Jews?
canadian cesspoolI don't get it.

Of course, nonny... because you say so.

Hey... I'm hearing that banjo(comma) music, yet again.

QOTW -- "With Mayor Miller..."

"...still haunting that place, I’d swear an exorcism would be more appropriate..."

Funny being down at the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show Friday at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre where it was moved from the CNE thanks to Miller’s ridiculous anti-gun crusade. If not letting the sport gun exhibits onto city property was designed to end the show, like a lot of stuff in the previous nightmare, it did not work.

This year’s show’s attendance is up 27% while the city loses out on $2-million in parking revenues and $600,000 on space rental. Who knows maybe target shooting will be allowed to come back at the CN range at Union Station, too.

...(not to mention the smarmy piety of social engineers)...
"The renaming of the Bangs Avenue School as the Barack H. Obama School is contingent upon a cost analysis, said Myra Campbell, the city resident who pushed for the new moniker."

"The resolution, approved Wednesday, calls for the new superintendent, Denise Lowe, to assess the financial impact of the name change during the upcoming school year."

"Lowe will have to consider the cost of a new marquee on the school, new stationery, and filing paperwork with the state and financial institutions, among other things."
"...Gang aft a-gley..."
"The century-old Bangs Avenue School — renamed for President Barack Obama just a year ago — will be closed as a neighborhood school this summer, largely because of a steep slide in the district's total enrollment the past decade."

Lemme see... it only took four bloody weeks

And... oh yeah... the combined moral authority of Hillary Clinton and the Arab League... to shame him into it...momo craps himselfHey, Barry... whatever happened to the progressive, socialist mantra of... "If it only saves one life", huh?

More to the point, what exactly does it say about the character of the presumptive "Leader of the Free World"... that he had to be dragged kicking & screaming into the fray...
The alternative for Barack Obama, and the West in general, is disgrace and the appearance of weakness.

If we cannot even rouse ourselves to confront a tinpot dictator such as Gaddafi, what credibility do we have in regards to an emerging regional power such as Iran?

THE COMPASSIONATE INTELLECTUAL LEFT REPLIES:

Good grief, libby... do you actually believe any of the happy horseshit that plops outta yer fuzzy-bunny piehole?

And here's some free advice... read slower...
"The timing of Hillary's remarks to CNN on Wednesday has raised eyebrows, coming at a critical moment in her fierce internal battle to push President Barack Obama to join the fight to liberate Libya from Muammar Qadhafi."
What part of... "this guy even makes Mrs Slick Willie look like Mother Theresa"... are you just not getting here? C'mon libby... how about you spark up another spliff and tell us how your idol... President McDreamy... is saving Yemen too?
-- SANA, Yemen -- Yemen’s pro-democracy protests exploded into violence on Friday, as government supporters opened fire on demonstrators in the capital, killing at least 45 people and wounding more than 200.

The violence began almost immediately after the protesters’ noon prayers, conducted en masse in the street. As they rose from prayer, government supporters in plain clothes opened fire from rooftops and windows at the southern end of the protest.

Before Friday, at least 40 protesters had been killed in weeks of demonstrations across the country. Most of those deaths occurred in the restive southern port city of Aden.
And he's back... with Friday troll #14...

Either I've got a more or less permanent lease on that large empty space between your ears, nonny... or your "Obromance" is more serious than I previously suspected.

Night, night nonny-puss.

Never mind the billion dollars...

...in hospital construction cost over-runs... what the hell is Dalton McGuinty doing cutting corners on cancer treatment?
-- TORONTO -- The government’s stance to deny the drug has been a difficult position to maintain, given that British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan all fund Herceptin for smaller tumours, as do Quebec, Newfoundland and Manitoba on a case-by-case basis.

The drug has turned one of the most lethal forms of breast cancer into one of the most curable. When given with chemotherapy, it halves rates of recurrence within four years of diagnosis in patients with HER-2 cancer, which affects 20 to 25 percent of breast cancer patients.
Hmmm... maybe the Liberals are just pinchin' pennies so they can fund other, more worthy initiatives...
-- BARRIE -- An inmate of an institution for the criminally insane who insists she is a "female trapped inside a male's body" is begging for a $15,000 assessment that would qualify her for a government-funded sex change.

Wearing a skirt and high-heeled shoes, Taylor -- formerly named Vance Egglestone until she got a legal name change -- began transitioning into a female in 2000, with extensive hormone therapy, nose surgery and $15,000 worth of permanent hair removal.
Throw in a "liberal dose" of hypocrisy...
Politicians and top bureaucrats from provinces across the country have better access to cancer drugs and treatment than their constituents, according to Cancer Advocacy Coalition Canada.

LAST WORD: And let's talk "family values"
"Friends, family and former colleagues are all intertwined in the complicated web that is eHealth Ontario's list of preferred contractors."

Hope, Change... and guess who...

...really wears the pants in the West Wing...
The biggest strain on Clinton has been her effort, not embraced by everyone in the administration, to stave off the kind of genocide in Libya that her husband permitted to occur in Rwanda in the 1990s.

The timing of her remarks to CNN on Wednesday has raised eyebrows, coming at a critical moment in her fierce internal battle to push President Barack Obama to join the fight to liberate Libya from Muammar Qadhafi.
Eyebrows, my arse... you can almost see her throwin' Barry an elbow the next time they're alone in the Oval Office.
“If the president is reelected, do you want to serve a second term as Secretary of State?” Blitzer asked.

“No,” Clinton replied bluntly.
