Liberal MP goes with bold, new strategy...

...looks constituents right in the face... calls them morons...

Liberal Wayne Easter from P.E.I. said he happily changed his mind and will now vote to keep the registry. In fact, he never wanted to scrap the registry in the first place, and only voted to do so to, "provoke debate" about the needs of rural Canadians.
I guess that's why the Liberal Party has been supporting all those Conservative budgets, huh.

To provoke debate?

Seriously?

Unfortunately, Wayne... the debate isn't gonna be about rural values... it'll be about what a lying, condescending wiener you are.

FROM THE COMMENTS:
I saw the Attorney General for Ontario, Chris Bentley, defending the Gun Registry on the Mother Corpse yesterday.

His compelling arguments: the Police Chiefs say it is good so it must be good and it protects women and children. How or why he clearly didn't know.

A dummy's dummy.
Well, maybe he could try asking a veteran frontline copper.

Those libs/ndpers really are in a bad position. If they defeat the bill, and there is an election in the near future, it will again be in our platform. And, if they get defeated and the PM gets his majority it will be abolished.
What is iggy's compromise and what good is it as he is not the PM. His compromise will not be implemented.
There are a few mps that voted to keep the registry that wont be there next month. Wonder how many libs will get ill that day. Considering nothing happened to the libs from NFLD that went against orders months ago, what could/would iggy do. Kick them out of his small caucus.

Those Liberal and NDP members who voted against continuing the long gun registry are well aware of just how big an issue this is within their ridings. If the Tories are defeated on this bill it will be the perfect wedge issue come election time, and you can bet your bippy that the Conservatives and NDP will pick up seats from the Liberals. The downtown core of Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver are lost to the Conservatives anyway so the Conservatives are aiming at cherry-picking the hinterlands.

Mr Easter is a more obnoxious lieberal than most - he lies, and then shreiks about his detractors to hide his own shortcomings - if the Islanders toss him next election, it will do them great credit

What is missing in this debate is obvious but I see nobody talking about it. What I mean is this, cops and government will want what makes their life easier, safer and more predictable, but that is not what is best for the population, for democracy nor for individual freedoms. This part of the debate has been ignored in Canada to date, but is well understood in the US. (real conservative)
