I can't wait for Michael Ignatieff...

...to tell us why he can't live with these changes...

The Tory government is reintroducing legislation to ban the use of house arrest sentences for major crimes committed by “serious and violent” offenders.

It would ban conditional sentences and require jail time for crimes such as aggravated assault, human trafficking, luring a child, street racing causing death, arson, fraud, counterfeiting, and extortion.
Hmmm... wonder whether Iggy & company can take a break from going after farmers, skeet shooters & duck hunters... to consider cracking down on actual criminals.

The next election campaign should be fun. Every time a liberal/ndp proposes they would do this or that, we can ask, why did you vote against it when it was brought up in the HofC.
With the opposition supporting abortion, assisted suicide and death with dignity, where do they expect future voters to come from.

Yeah I don't know what the problem is either, won't the cons still vote liberal anyways? Maybe when PM Harper wants to force Iggy into an election he will threaten to remove the 'vote' from prisoners in this country. (real conservative)

"michael says... "look left, look waaayyyyyy left."

jacko's already staked out the left flank... maybe iggy is gonna have to embrace his not-so-secret dark side and just roll the dice.

you listen to his smarmy little lectures and you know he'd just love to waterboard somebody...

"I think there are people who would say I've been very ruthless in my life. I am someone who has worried greatly about the price my ruthlessness has inflicted on others."

just ask mrs iggy the first & those two pesky kids from his first marriage.

PM Martin proposed these same sort of laws during his entirely brief reign. It never happened because his party stole millions of taxpeyer dollars and then lost an election.

Liberals. They're on their own side.
