Remember when you were 16...

...you had a beef with somebody... out came the weapons?

Yeah... me neither.

-- OSHAWA -- A Grade 11 student slain outside his school Tuesday was remembered as a friendly athlete whose only enemy was the young man accused of killing him.

An 18-year-old classmate was arrested nearby "within minutes" and was expected to appear in court Wednesday morning.
Our modern world.

RELATED: Who killed "zero tolerance"?

I'll give you a hint... IT WASN'T that evil neocon Mike Harris...
"The Liberal government’s Bill 212 was in response to a complaint launched by the Ontario Human Rights Commission regarding the extent to which "racialized students" and "students with disabilities" were unfairly treated through the zero tolerance approach to student discipline."
Students with "disabilities"? You mean people who can't recognise that stabbing someone is a bad thing? Whaddaya call folks like that?

Oh yeah... sociopaths.

And would a "zero tolerance" policy have made any difference here? It sure sounds like it...
Erin McDonagh, who later brought flowers to the bus shelter, which quickly became a makeshift memorial, said it was common knowledge at school that the suspect carried a knife.
But heck, you're probably thinking... how often does some teenager get stabbed like this?

Well, as it turns out... that was the second one that day...
A 15-year-old boy was knifed late Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of St. Gertrude Separate Elementary School at 815 Ceremonial Dr., near McLaughin and Eglinton.
But don't tell Premier McSlippery anything like that.

There's no such thing as "a bad boy" in Dalton's new socialist paradise.

UPDATE: Teen killer id'd
18-year-old Jacques Amakon was charged with second-degree murder and possession of a dangerous weapon during in a court appearance Wednesday morning.
The three assailants in the other stabbing are still on the loose.

LAST WORD: Meanwhile, just down the road
-- AJAX -- Two men have been arrested after a teen was repeatedly stabbed in the head last week in a violent street-level attack.
Nice.

I'm willing to guess that the 18 year old perp never did anything wrong in his life prior to this. .

18 years old, makes him an adult. He might actually get 2 or 3 years in jail.

"langmann says... He might actually get 2 or 3 years in jail."

hah... good one.

the reality is... this is fuzzy-bunny canada... where the "criminals are the real victims."

I can almost guarantee you that Jacques failed math...I mean, you do this stuff BEFORE the big 1-8.

As for carrying a knife: maybe it was just growing up out in the country, but we ALL carried knives. You used it on apples or projects and things like that.

Gawd help you if you used it for anything else. The teacher might, believe it or not, take it away from you. And gawd help you if you even carved a single bit of graffiti with it. Detention, the strap or even a very stern lecture in front of the class about abusing the privilege of having one, and not harming things with it paled with the threat of...what you had to tell your mother. Which paled to...what would happen when she told your da.

yup... i remember all the guys having jackknives from early on in grade school.

number of stabbings that i even read about growing up... well, that'd be, uh... zero. it just wouldn't have occurred to us to rip another kid.

i do remember one of my younger brother's sociopath friends taking my air rifle and shooting the kid next door in the ass. the pellet bounced off, but i imagine it stung pretty good.

lemme tell you... my father went absolutely apeshit punishing my brother... AND THEN he smashed my gun to pieces on the front step.

i don't know who these freaks are, runnin' around stabbin' people... but... guys like Jacques... they've obviously never experienced dad rage.

NO doubt JA and neo. Same thing here.

One of the amazing things about Dad Rage is when Dad is just real quiet.

Its worse than Dad Rage, because at least Dad Rage gets over and done with. When Dad is quiet, I swear to god that was worse by far.

That's half the problem with these kids, Dad's exactly the same and usually nowhere to be found. Monkey see monkey do basically.

@ neo: how'd sociopath ex-friend work out? Not well I betcha.

My dad just had to give me The Look. Or threaten to go beyond that. Funny thing: I was only spanked twice. Ever. Once, I almost killed my brother with a rasslin' move, and once when bro and I repeatedly, and after several warnings, continued to use our beds as take off and landing ramps.

Basically, we were taught not to do wrong because it was...well, wrong.

When various cousins, friends and neighbours got into trouble, the lecture was always "see how much trouble they've caused their parents." That always worked...

There's that word "racialized" again. Racialized = the new victim/race card for non-white-skinned Caucasians.
