Jihad at Texas Army Base?

-- FORT HOOD, Texas -- A soldier opened fire at a U.S. Army base in Fort Hood, Texas on Thursday, unleashing a stream of gunfire that left 12 people dead and 31 wounded. Authorities killed the gunman, and apprehended two other soldiers suspected in what appears to be the worst mass shooting at a U.S. military base.

A law enforcement official identified the shooting suspect as Army Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan. The official said Hasan, believed to be in his late 30s, was killed after opening fire at the base.

UPDATE: Say that again?
A defense official speaking on condition of anonymity says Hasan was a mental health professional — an Army psychologist or psychiatrist.

LAST WORD: The clues were there
On a form filled out by those seeking spouses through a program at the mosque, Major Hasan listed his birthplace as Arlington, Va., but his nationality as Palestinian, Mr. Khan said.

“I don't know why he listed Palestinian,” Mr. Khan said, “He was not born in Palestine.”

Jihad?

Yup.

39 years old, American-born of Jordanian descent.

"...mental health professional". Doesn't matter. The "Glasgow jihadis" were NHS medical doctors.

Just a copy cat do you think, or are the sleepers going to awaken in other places?

Lieutenant-Colonel at Fort Hood press conference says Hasan was not killed, only wounded.

Via Fox News - other officers who served with Hasan said he compared suicide bombers to soldiers who lay down on live grenades to save their comrades.

I hope Hasan will be prosecuted to the full extent of military law.

Seems as though the religion itself is at war with us. This is scary.

Well, his parents emigrated from Jordan, so they may have been born in pre-1947 Palestine.

It is, however, disturbing. Why would anyone in the US Army list their nationality as anything other than American (first, last, and always)?
