Mayor's office, yet again...

A shooting incident outside a hotel in Toronto's posh Yorkville district has left one man dead and sent another to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Toronto police Staff Sgt. David Vickers told ctvtoronto.ca that the incident happened at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, in a laneway behind the Howard Johnson Hotel Yorkville, north of Bloor Street West on Avenue Road.

Vickers said a 25-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after being shot. The victim's name has not been released.

Police have no motive for the murder, but there are reports a white male armed with a silver handgun was seen fleeing the scene in a tan-coloured SUV.

UPDATE4: Victim finally identified...
-- Toronto -- Police are asking for the public's help as they try to piece together the last few hours of Toronto's latest murder victim.

The man, who has been identified by police, as 25-year-old Wesler Fabien from Ottawa, was visiting Toronto for Caribana.

He became Toronto's 32nd homicide of the year after he was shot and killed early Saturday morning after a night of partying in the Entertainment District. Fabien was known to police.

According to police, the suspect may have been waiting for the two men.
