Iggy having second thoughts?
It nets out to this, according to this longtime Liberal and echoed by many other key players across the country: ordinary Liberals across the country, the card-carrying bbq-ing door-knocking envelope-stuffing phone-banking kind who make up the backbone of the party and who would need to be counted on to support his leadership aspirations, are vehemently rejecting the Dion argument that a deal with the separatist Bloc Quebecois is in the best interests of Canada.**********
"Bullshit", said one Liberal power-broker, who was quick to point out Dion is tilting at Liberal history for the sake of a short stint at 24 Sussex.
"Dion is nuts."
RELATED: Dion's payoff to Duceppe revealed...
"I was just watching Mike Duffy Live on CTV, and learned that Pauline Marois, the leader of the provincial Parti Quebecois -- the sister party to the separatist Bloc Quebecois -- announced that part of Gilles Duceppe's price for supporting the coalition is an immediate $1 billion transfer to Quebec."*
"On the same show, we learned of other coming pay-offs: separatist appointments to the Senate. There are 18 vacancies in the Senate, including four in Quebec. Not only are the Bloc in for patronage pay-offs, but Elizabeth May, the Green Party leader, was on Parliament Hill today, and she wouldn't deny that she, too, was offered a Senate seat."
"It's a fire sale in Ottawa! Senate seats, billions of dollars, whatever you want -- just make Stephane Dion the prime minister!"

Right on!
Combine Asperger syndrome and being an idiot savant ( with a decided paucity of savant) and yoy have a stubborn foolish idiot who is immune to reality and incapable of long term thinking.
Iggy must be a total moron if he cannot see that Dion's Coalition is a disaster for the Liberal party.
... so much for the guy who wants to be PM ... go back to your ivory tower in academia in the US and good riddance !
Utter nonsense. I am a card-carrying Liberal, an active volunteer, and a member of many Grassroots Liberal organizations. I can state here, and without qualification, that Liberals everywhere are solidly behind this coalition.
Drive the loyal Liberal supporters away from the party and then all you have left are the hard lefties.
Sounds like this is Bob Rae's plan and not Dion's or Ignatieff's.
Hmmm.
Unfortunately for Iggy he has already given his blessings and if the "I love Canada" liberals are ticked he will have a bit of face to save, however being anti Dion now after doing the typical liberal pollthing ,says I should not support this insanity he should be okay because he is seeking liberals after all.

of course... that's all we need to get to the bottom of this thing... the whinging voice of a cowardly anonymous troll.

No qualifications? Like "most" Liberals, "many" Liberals, "some" Liberals? It's all of them? How do you know this? If you're right, the party's in big trouble.

As judgement day nears we are going to realise that the liberals sold their souls for their last chance at the PM's seat. Iggy is counting on Dion to take the fall if this Coalition doens't get to run this country. What the left fail to realise is that Canadians will blame the party not Dion. The liberals endorsed this plan and I suspect helped draft the alliance months ago. The truth will be set free and the Liberals could very well be at the end of their expiry date.
On MSM comments section they are out in full force trying to justify the Coalition and they are getting their arses kicked by Canadians who aren't buying their propaganda about representing the majority voter in Canada.
This Coalition could be the death of the Liberal Party, Layton is in hiding whilst Dion is taking the full fury of the publics' outrage. The leftarded ilk are trying to blame Harper as is the MSM, but I believe the Coalition had every intention of ousting the PM from the get go. Nothing Harper could do to stop their lust for power, zip nadda.
Echoes of Adscam...just give big bucks to Quebec to 'support' a corrupt Liberal government.
Nothing has changed.

He says he has not agreed to do anything
Heard on Duffy LIVE that Parizeau is to endorse the separatist coalition's takeover of parliament. Duffy guest Jean Lapierre says that "Parizeau will come out swinging" tomorrow.
I bet Parizeau attacks Stephen Harper too. And considering the great fundraising capabilities of the CPoC, combined with Jason Kenney's fine work in peeling immigrant votes away from the Liberal Party, he'll probably dismiss Harper's mandate to govern by saying it's a only as a result of money and the ethnic vote.
How F***ing stupid do the Liberals have to be to have not seen any of this coming? Dion's one of the lucky few because he's on his way out anyway.
Only one billion dollars...
Like I said before:
If you thought too much of your money was going to Quebec before? Think again.
The smoothness of how this deal went though leaves many questions unanswered.
I for one am pissed off. This truly is the end of the Liberal Party. There is no hope for a return of true classical liberal values to the Liberal Party if this goes through.
Heh. "Liberals everywhere are solidly behind this coalition". Of course. That's at least Dion, Rae, Iggy...um, May, Layton, Duceppe..."
Did you see Question Period when Liberal Carolyn Bennett led the applause for Layton's question? It looked like Iggy was trying to swallow his spleen from the inside...
I haven't heard or seen anything from any of the liberal friendly polling firms on any of this mess, but have one picture of Prime Minister Harper shaking his sons hand before school and we're flooded with useless polls. Funny how that works.
Just saw The National and Keith Boag proves once and for all that, yes, he is a liar, just like Dion and Layton, and gets his talking points from those making up this proposed separatist coalition to govern Canada.
After showing clips of Harper in QP denoucing Dion for making a coalition with the Bloc, Boag gives his own view when he adds, "But the Bloc is not part of the Liberal-NDP coalition as the PM claims but will support it in the house."
F***ING liar! Misleading the public.
Semantics, Keith, semantics.
What does Harper have to do to appoint senators? If part of the blocs deal for supporting this coup is they get bloc senators, what if Harper fills all the senate spots right now so they are out of luck? I'm sure Canadians wouldn't have any problem with that as it's keeping dangerous traitors from being in the senate.
TJS
"...the Bloc is not part of the Liberal-NDP coalition..."
That would be the dictionary definition of a distinction without a difference.

jack and gilles just want us to pretend there is no invisible hand here.
a very dangerous, not to mention short-sighted game, that the libs and dippers are playing here.

The best statement I'vew seen so far is that Dion is Duceppe's bitch..
